Administer verbal and non-verbal behavioral assessments and assist in the administration of neuro-imaging experimental components through fMRI.

Projects include:
A40-1 –This longitudinal, cross-sectional collaboration  examines what early predictors are linked to speech and reading abilities. Three time point components display learning in children with increasing exposure to phonology and literacy in the earliest years of primary school.

A182 – This project intends to pinpoint the mechanisms used in novel language learning and what predictors are associated with reading disabilities.

A204 - This study aims to identify the neural processes that are used to combine visual and auditory speech  information. in children with Autism Spectrum Disorder, children with speech-sound disorders, and typically developing children.

Tutor students in General Psychology, Statistics, and Learning classes.

Haskins Laboratories - New Haven, CT                              6/15 - current
Research Associate for the A-182 Neurobiological Predictors of Spoken and Written Language Learning study and A-40 Nature and Acquisition of the Speech Code and Reading study – Score and enter into FileMaker a battery of verbal and non-verbal tests for young adults and children with varying reading abilities. Administer Near-Infrared Spectroscopy using MATLAB and assist in running experiments using E-Prime for fMRI scans.

Direct Support Staff Member –Worked under a licensed behaviorist to document visits with adolescents with Developmental Disorders in their homes. Helped these clients complete daily living routines, increased communication, and encouraged participation in community activities.

Research Lab Assistant for the Listening to Faces study- Administer and score a battery of verbal and non-verbal tests to typically developing children and children with Autism Spectrum Disorders. Tests include Goldman-Fristoe-2, CELF-5, EVT-2, PPVT-4, and WASI-2.

Research Lab Assistant for the Language Development in Children with Autism study- Transcribed the language and coded the eye movement patterns of typically developing children and children with Autism Spectrum Disorders using the computer programs Clan and MATLAB.

Edit journal submissions and decide what can be kept in each issue of the journal. Assist in leading the agenda for meetings, take minutes, and correspond with faculty about distribution of journals. Create flyers to recruit members and journal submissions at campus research events.

Administer the WASI-2 and WRAT in order to decide if students are eligible for learning disability resources. Administer the Barkley ADHD Rating Scale to determine if students are also eligible for services related to ADHD.
